About Olivia Jaramillo
Olivia is a Strategic Leadership Consultant and a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Specialist. She is currently Director for Public Outreach at Equality Utah. She was born and raised in Mexico. She’s a retired United States Air Force Veteran, having served tours in Iraq, Europe and humanitarian missions in Africa. In 2016 she was one of the first individuals nationwide to legally change her name and gender marker while still serving on Active Duty. She has worked in furthering DEI efforts for several companies and organizations including the VIVINT, Qualtrics, Dominion Energy, Zions Bank, and Adobe. She is a Commissioner on the Salt Lake City Human rights Commission, a member of the YWCA’s Public Policy Committee and was a political candidate in 2020. She currently lives in Salt Lake City with her son Oliver.
About Jathan Janove
For the first 25 years of his career, Jathan Janove, a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, practiced employment law, initially representing employees and unions and later switching to the management side. He was licensed in six states and in 2005, the Utah State Bar named him “Employment Lawyer of the Year.” Since leaving the practice of law, Jathan has served as an organization consultant and executive coach with a focus on workplace culture. He is a Master Coach for the international Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching organization and writes its “Ask the Coach” column.
Jathan is a longtime speaker and writer for SHRM and currently writes the column, “Putting Humanity into HR Compliance.” He also serves on the faculty of the University of California San Diego HR Masters Series. His most recent book is “Hard-Won Wisdom: True Stories from the Management Trenches.” (HarperCollins 2017.)
