We know that passing the HR certification exams takes effort and commitment and we want to acknowledge your hard work and commitment to HR professional excellence. HR Recertification

Once becoming certified, HR professionals keep their certifications up to date by earning 60 professional development credits (PDCs) for SHRM certifications or 60 recertification credits for HRCI certifications during their three-year recertification cycle. SLSHRM provides recertification hours each month through its regular events programming. In 2020 over 80 recertification hours were made available to our members. Further information about how to recertify or what is required to recertify is found at the link below.

HRCI Certification

As a local SHRM Chapter we plan to continue to support the HRCI certifications. We will offer HRCI credit at our monthly professional development meetings and will promote preparation for those who desire to obtain the HRCI Certification as either a Professional of Human Resources (PHR) or as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR).

Leading the way in HR Scholarship Opportunities

The SHRM Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable, non-profit organization that operates as the research and development arm of the HR profession, advances the profession and enhances the knowledge and competency of HR professionals through its funding of research, publications and educational programs.

The SHRM Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from the HR profession. It Includes academics, practitioners and representatives from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Scholarship with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

Whether it’s a new market, new product, or expansion, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is focused on GROWTH.

It is 100% scholarship based and no cost to you.

We are recruiting small business owners for the program now.

The course runs for about 15 weeks and meets roughly one day every week.

 The criteria to qualify:

                2 years in business

                $150,000 minimum in annual revenue

                Equivalent of 4 employees

                Desire to grow your small business

SLSHRM Kristy Cousins Certification Grant

SLSHRM created a certification grant in remembrance of Kristy Cousins, former SLSHRM Chapter Management Professional. The grant is being sponsored through the SHRM Foundation Scholarship and Grants process and is being offered to eligible members of SLSHRM. The Grant includes cost of SHRM Learning System and SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP test fees and is offered twice a year. Actual application dates in the Jan-Feb and May-June windows vary.

Local HR Training Organizations

SLSHRM partners with professional HR training providers to provide our members with various avenues for continuing education and learning toward certification as HR professionals. The following partners provide certification workshops to assist members in successful preparation for the HR certification exams. Workshops are open to those preparing for SHRM and HRCI certification. These partners offer SLSHRM members 10% discounts when taking their workshops or continuing education courses.

Salt Lake SHRM Chapter is offering a SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP study group using the 2021 SHRM Learning System. Our program combines the leadership of an experienced facilitator with learning modules based on the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge and interactive study tools that test your knowledge and decision-making skills for comprehensive and effective SHRM certification preparation.

In our special offer to SLSHRM members, the 4-Module SHRM Learning System content includes the following formats: online format and downloadable .epub format and in print, for the one low discount price of $535. Each module also contain a bibliography, a glossary and an index.
